The local Labour members of Liverpool Wavertree CLP have selected Luciana Berger as their Parliamentary Candidate for this year's general election, following the announcement of the selections results at the weekend.
Luciana, 28 years old from Wembley, said after being successfully selected: "I am delighted and overjoyed that Labour Party members in Wavertree have selected me to be their candidate. Jane will be a hard act to follow, but I'm determined to make Labour's campaign a success and I will be fighting on the issues that matter to all the people of Wavertree."
Liverpool Labour leader Joe Anderson also threw his support behind Luciana, as messages of support flooded in from across the local Party: "I think Luciana Berger will make an excellent MP. Not only will she make an excellent MP for Wavertree, but will also rise to become a politician of stature in Parliament."
