Liverpool Labour's Joe Anderson and Frank Prendergast have welcomed Wilfred Petrie to the city.
Wilfred is from France, and is the Great Grandson of the first ever Leader of Liverpool City Council, Charles Petrie. Charles was Leader from 1899 to 1900, and Wilfred was delighted to trace his roots back to Liverpool Town Hall.
Joe Anderson - Leader of the City Council since 2010 - said: "It was great meeting Wilfred, and hearing about his family history."
"He has a strong connection with Liverpool, and I was delighted to show him his Great Grandfather's name inscribed on a plaque in the Town Hall."
